Yes, that's possible. For a beautiful finish, first clean the rail thoroughly and free of grease and then apply a thin strip of acrylic sealant. Sand the rail with very fine sandpaper and clean the rail thoroughly and free of grease. The rail can then be painted with any type of acrylic-based paint.
